Seimas Visitors’ Center Bus Presents Book “Lithuania Created by the Nation”

Tomorrow, May 3, 4 p.m. The presentation of the book “Lithuania Created by the Nation” is being prepared by the Seimas Visitors’ Center (Gedimino Ave. 60, Vilnius).
The event is attended by book publishers and authors of articles. The 100th anniversary of the birth of Monsignor Kazimieras Vasiliauskas, the pastor of the restored Vilnius Cathedral Basilica and the pastor of the restored Vilnius Archcathedral Basilica, will be commemorated.
The event is sponsored by a member of the Seimas prof. Valdas Rakutis.

In 2021, to celebrate Lithuania, the society celebrated its 100th anniversary. The year of the society beautified for Lithuania, proclaimed in Lithuania, reminded us of the creators of this organization and its honorable history.
The program, drawn up and approved by the government, covered the widest corners of the country. Its creators are remembered – canon Juozas Tumas-Vaižgantas, professor Povilas Matulionis. 1921 April 27 The society established in Kaunas and elected by the Board of the Center were Stasys Šilingas, Povilas Matulionis, Liudas Vailionis, Eugenijus Kubilius, Tadas Ivanauskas and other enlightened people.
The society to beautify Lithuania was led by Lithuanian patriots, people who deserved and authority in society: Juozas Tumas-Vaižgantas, General Vladas Nagevičius, Officer of the Ministry of National Defense, Col. Vladas Braziulevičius. Society from 1921 to 1940. July 1 (before Lithuania closed them) it takes a lot of work: it has established chapters and mobilized the whole country, raising the spirit of the Nation, cultivating citizenship and patriotism, restoring Lithuania in various ways, restoring destroyed forests, parks, settlement squares and homesteads.
At the initiative of the Society, in honor of the 500th anniversary of King Vytautas (1930), in 1928. It was planned to raise funds and build monuments to King Vytautas throughout Lithuania. Monuments were erected 30. The painting of Vytautas, carried in a solemn procession by Juozas Tumas-Vaižgantas, Stasys Šilingas, the Minister of Education Konstantinas Šakenis and representatives of the army, toured Lithuanian cities and towns.
After the restoration of Lithuania’s independence, in 1995. May 5 In the sacristy of the Vilnius Cathedral, an initiative group for the restoration of the Lithuanian society was formed under the initiative of museologist Birutė Fedaravičienė and Juozas Dingelis under Monsignor Kazimieras Vasiliauskas. 1995 June 23 The restoration conference of the Society for the Beautification of Lithuania took place in the current Presidency. Juozas Dingelis, Vilnius Forest Director, was elected the Chairman of the Board of the Society Center. Monsignor Kazimieras Vasiliauskas and poet Justinas Marcinkevičius were elected honorary chairmen of the Society.
The Society has 64 chapters to beautify Lithuania, which are actively working and continuing the work started by its predecessors. 2005 July 2 The Song Festival took place on the mounds, after convening the LPD department and all county delegations with art collectives, which started the campaign – State Day, July 6, 9 p.m. to prepare the call for the unification of the Nation “Light of the Mounds”. Pursuant to the precept of Juozas Tumas-Vaižgantas, every year they gather on the mounds in early July to gain the strength of the spirit and continue to work beautiful works for Lithuania. LPD rejoices at the established tradition – “National Anthem” is sung all over Lithuania and the world at the same time!
On the initiative of Vidmantas Kartanas, the chairman of the Panevėžys LPD Division for the 100th anniversary of the restoration of Lithuania, a 22-year-old cycling trip was organized. During four years, the whole of Lithuania was visited, 44 memorable celebrations of statehood and pride in the Homeland were organized in the district centers, parks, on the most important mounds. District municipalities and LPD departments contributed to the organization of these events. The society’s chronicler Steponas Kubeckas has created 70 videos that can be seen on the YouTube channel.
2016 near Birštonas St. A monument to Juozums-Vaižgantas was built on the initiative of Antanas Paduvietis Church LPD and Birštonas Municipality. On September 20, with the support of Visvaldas Matijošaitis, the Mayor of Kaunas City Municipality, a monument to Juozas Tumas-Vaižgantas (author of the monuments – sculptor Gediminas Piekuras) was unveiled in Kaunas.
From 2019 September 20 The Society is headed by Alfas Pakėnas, the long-term head of the Society Juozas Dingelis has been elected the Honorary Chairman, and the Deputy Chairman is Dalia Poškienė.
The LPD 100th Anniversary Conference was held at St. In St. George’s Church. Together with the Society of XXVII Book Lovers and the World Lithuanian Center, the book “Lithuania Created by the Nation” was prepared and published. It is a gift not only to the members of the Society, but also to the entire reading community.
“Lithuania Created by the Nation”. The book is an album. The editor of the book is Laimonas Inis, the authors are Dalia Poškienė and Juozas Dingelis. The book was prepared and published by the XXVII Book Lovers’ Association, the Society for the Beautification of Lithuania, assisted by the World Lithuanian Center, printed by the printing house Morkūnas ir Ko, and published by the Lithuanian Ministry of Culture.
