With the laying of wreaths and a minute of silence, the ECB honored Labor Day
With the laying of wreaths at the monument of the Worker and a minute of silence in memory of the fallen workers, the members of the administration of the Labor and Employment Center of Thessaloniki, together with the workers’ Unions of the city, honored the Labor Day.
ECB President Haris Kyprianidis stressed that “today, 136 years after the Chicago explanation, we are here to honor, first of all, the memory of these people, thanks to whom we have all the labor rights, in situations that at that time. “It was much harder,” he said, noting that “the fight never stops.” “We are here to honor struggles and struggles, after two years of pandemic, which have brought pain, hardship and deprivation to workers. Unfortunately, we are facing a new crisis. I pledge that under these conditions the Municipality of Thessaloniki will carry out all that must be done for the employees “said the mayor of Thessaloniki, Konstantinos Zervas.
