Monaco still present, Metz still disappoints… what to remember from this multiplex!
During this 35th day of the championship, Monaco is still clinging to its European objective. Lorient was surprised at home and Metz sees its hopes of staying in Ligue 1 dwindle little by little. Here is the recap of the multiplex.
After the sinking of Lille against Troyes (3-0), AS Monaco took an option at home by logically beating SCO Angers (2-0), with an “against-his-camp” but from Abdoulaye Bamba, and another signed by Wissam Ben Yedder. Philippe Clément’s men struggled to find the fault, but the essential is assured with the three points of the victory pocketed. Monaco thus records a 7th consecutive success in the championship.

Monaco and Rennes back to back
Monaco thus recovers to 4th place, tied with Stade Rennais (3rd). Both clubs are now hoping a misstep from Olympique de Marseille (2nd) which welcomes, this evening (9 p.m.), Olympique Lyonnais for a Olympic Very important.
OM are now three points ahead of Rennes and Monaco. A defeat for the Marseillais would give hope to Monegasques and Bretons in their race for the podiumsynonym of participation to the Champions League.

Metz in the hard
For FC Metz, it’s another story. At La Mosson, the Messins had created a surprise by leading 2-0 until the 79th. The Lorraine team completely cracked in the last ten minutes, thus offering caviars to Montpellier HSC. Messi errors allow Montpellier to call back at 2-2.
The latter could even snatch the victory in all the last moments of the game.
Whatever, this draw is also frustrating for the locals who woke up too late. But the end result is even more disappointing for the troops of Frédéric Antonetti, still stuck in relegation 20th place in the Ligue 1 standings.
Lorraine’s hopes of maintenance for next season could move away even further in the event of success for Girondins de Bordeaux (19th) against OGC Nice (6th).
