May 2 Day of the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad
That it was possible to build unity with compatriots living outside the country. On May 2, we celebrate the Day of the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad.
It is a holiday that emphasizes the importance of the centuries-old achievements and contribution of the Polish community in regaining independence by our country. On the eve of the anniversary in Warsaw, on the occasion of the symsium on the 100th anniversary of the letters of the alphabet of the Polish-language pastoral ministry
At the meeting on the spot, the Polish Episcopal delegate for the Pastoral Care of Polish Emigration – Bishop Piotr Turzyński. Clergy Christianity, that they did everything to ensure that Polishness and Christianity continue to intertwine.
– I am humbly facing so many initiatives and wonderful people who are devoted to the Polish diaspora and who have abroad, so that the roots will last and be vital. After all, we think that Polishness and Christianity have been intertwined from the very beginning. Our statehood and on this earth – always together. I take aversion. I will try to keep it that way – says Bishop Turzyński.
The government’s plenipotentiary for the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad, Minister Jan Dziedziczak, also took the floor. The politician noted that Catholicism was an integral part of Polish identity.
– always one of the independent Polish, that Catholicism is not Polish, but it is fixed. It cannot be torn off, it cannot be separated from Polishness. I shared our vision of building the identity of Poles abroad – said Jan Dziedziczak.
On the occasion of the Day of the Polish Diaspora and Poles Abroad, on May 2 at Jasna Góra at 13:30, Holy Mass will be celebrated for the intention of fellow countrymen living outside the homeland. The Eucharist will be presided over by Bishop Piotr Turzyński.
