Arsenal respond to Tottenham, AC Milan put pressure on Inter
England: Everton’s good move, Arsenal regains 4th place at Tottenham
By losing 1-0 on Sunday, Chelsea completely revived Everton. Thanks to a goal from Richarlison and a great match from Pickford, Everton are getting closer to Leeds, 17th, and can still dream of maintaining. For the Blues, this defeat can allow Arsenal to get closer in the standings.
Tottenham took advantage of Leicester’s mistakes to win on Sunday (3-1). While Leicester, without their usual starters, had difficulty in taking control of the game, the club found themselves in attack with no shots attempted in the second half. A boon for the teammates of Kane and Son who unblocked the situation in the second part of the meeting.
The reduction in Iheanacho’s score in added time didn’t change anything.
While fourth place was to be taken by Tottenham, Arsenal secured the essentials by beating West Ham (2-1). In a rather disappointing derby, the Gunners scored twice from corners to qualify for the Europa League next season. For their part, the Hammers, in technical failure, missed the opportunity of their 7th place.
Italy: Milan at the end of the suspense, Juve shy
At the end of the day, the leader will be AC Milan, who fell at the end of the Fiorentina meeting on Sunday (1-0). La Viola had however started the meeting well before losing ground, without the Rossoneri managing to conclude. But that was without counting on Leão, who was ruthless to exploit goalkeeper Terracciano’s mistake and give victory to his team.
Milan had taken a five-point lead over its neighbor Inter, who was serious at Udinese on Sunday (2-1 victory). The Interists made up for it after their faux pas in Bologna to stay in touch with AC Milan, thanks to Perisic (12th) and Martinez (40th) in the first period. The Nerrazzuri, not really worried throughout the game, were only surprised by a free kick from Pussetto (72nd).
Torino was a hit against Empoli (3-1) thanks to a hat-trick from Belotti, including two from the penalty spot. Zurkowski reduced the score shortly before the hour mark, without change.
Earlier in the day, Juventus Turin provided the essentials. In a timid match against Venezia, the Bianconeri showed a certain nonchalance throughout the match, going as far as being equalized in the 71st minute with a magnificent but from Aramu. Massimiliano Allegri’s men managed to react thanks to a double from Bonucci.
Spain: Barcelona move forward
It was time for Barça to regain color. After three consecutive defeats, FC Barcelona finally won, on their lawn, against Mallorca (2-1) on Sunday evening. Not really worried, the Barcelonans logically dominated thanks to the achievements of Depay and Busquets.
Earlier in the day, Falcao had allowed Rayo Vallecano to hang Real Sociedad (1-1). Led until the 78th minute, the Colombian came into play in the 77th and scored in the foul to allow his team to leave with the point of the draw. Falcao took the opportunity to end his drought in La Liga, where his last but dated back to last November against Real Madrid (2-1).
