IAC is struggling, especially on the offensive!
Zirl is seven games without a point, the gap to the saving place in the table is already eleven points. This is mainly due to the performance of Union Innsbruck in spring 2022, which caught up with the middle of the table. Innsbrucker AC are seventh in the table, with three defeats and two wins in their last five games. So things are going rather mixed, but of course the IAC is the favorite against Zirl. The opening game of the 22nd round of the Tirol Liga in front of around 200 spectators and fans was not a football treat, but it was very committed and combative on both sides. The IAC is struggling relatively, you can tell that the team is quite insecure, especially when it comes to pushing forward. There is hardly anything to be seen from Zirl offensively in the first half, the IAC has two or three quite good chances. So the 1-0 lead break through a goal by Florian Jünemann in the 17th minute is probably okay,
In the second half it takes a quarter of an hour until the preliminary decision. A double strike by the IAC by Lukas Hagleitner and Florian Jünemann lets the IAC pull away 3-0. Zirl’s hopes of making the game exciting again only lasted for a short time – 1:3 in the 69th minute by Dario Dubravac, but Lukas Hagleitner nipped these hopes in the 72nd minute with the 4:1 for the IAC. Daniel Fankhauser for Zirl and Lukas Hagleitner score again in the finish. In the end a clear 5:2 success for Innsbrucker AC without convincing in a playful way.

Michael Messner, Innsbruck AC coach: “An important win for us! In the last few rounds, the self-image has simply been lost, many injured players, but not a good game today either. The short-term are the three points, we are currently struggling, especially going forward. We definitely have a small slump in the team after a long, very successful time, but we have to face it together! The two goals from our youngster obviously made me very happy.”
