Stoffel Vandoorne triumphs in Monaco and becomes leader of the championship
In Formula 1 as in its electric leaning, Formula E, the Monegasque meeting is the jewel in the crown. The Monaco ePrix, contested this Saturday April 30, won a driver whose emblem on the nose of the single-seater is a star: Stoffel Vandoorne (Mercedes).
The Belgian beat poleman Mitch Evans (Jaguar), while Frenchman Jean-Éric Vergne (DS Techeetah) completed the podium after a solid race. The double champion of the discipline, however, leaves his role as leader of the Drivers’ championship to Vandoorne
One of the best comebacks in the peloton is the work of Swiss Sébastien Buemi (Nissan e.dams). The former FE champion, who started 22nd and last on the grid, took advantage of various incidents to nibbling positions, such as when leader Pascal Wehrlein (Porsche) retired due to mechanical damage.
