Formula E. The Belgian Stoffel Vandoorne does double duty in Monaco. sport
Belgian Stoffel Vandoorne (Mercedes) won the Monaco E-prix on Saturday and took the lead in the Formula E world championship ahead of Frenchman Jean-Eric Vergne (DS-Techeetah), third in the race.
The 30-year-old driver takes his third victory in Formula E and the first of his season.
Starting fourth on the grid, he was able to take advantage of the “attack modes”, a device that facilitates overtaking, and a technical problem with the race leader, the German Pascal Wehrlein, to win.

On a Monegasque track identical for the first time to that of Formula 1, Jean-Eric Vergne anticipated from the middle of the race to try to overtake the New Zealander Mitch Evans, author of the pole position, and win . But the two-time Formula E world champion failed to hold on to the top two spots.
The next two races will take place in Berlin on the weekend of May 14 and 15.
