Formula E: Stoffel Vandoorne wins the Monaco ePrix!
He had already experienced the joy of winning on Monaco rock in 2015 in the GP2 Series. After last year’s struggle in the Principality, Stoffel Vandoorne scored a resounding victory at the end of the Monaco ePrix. Starting from fourth place, the Kortrijk driver delivered an attacking race and took advantage of excellent traffic management and Attack Mode, in addition to the concerns of Pascal Wehrlein (Porsche), to win the timpani.
For the Mercedes driver, the blow is double since he takes the lead in the championship. Vandoorne certainly picks up the best victory of his career. Whatever happens this season, we can’t take away from him having won the most prestigious ePrix of the year. “It’s incredible, it’s the most beautiful race of the year”smiled Stoffel. “We suffered in 2021 here and we turned around here. The team gave me a great car. I fought at the front all season but it didn’t always work for me. I’m happy with this race “
Poleman Mitch Evans had to bow to an irresistible Vandoorne. The spearhead of the Jaguar team must be content with the silver medal after being imperial in Rome. Jean-Eric Vergne (Techeetah) took third place after undergoing the test in the same position. We then find Robin Frijns (Envision), Antonio Felix Da Costa (Techeetah), Lucas di Grassi (Envision), Nick Cassidy (Envision), Sébastien Buemi (Nissan), Jake Dennis (Andretti) and Nyck de Vries (Mercedes).
