Bulgaria’s budget will be plus BGN 900 million at the end of April, the finance ministry predicts
Based on preliminary data and estimates, the budget balance under the Consolidated Fiscal Program (CFP) is expected to be positive by April 2022 in the amount of BGN 883 million (0.6 percent of projected GDP). For comparison, for the same period in 2021, an excess of revenues over expenditures of EUR 171.6 million was reported. leva. This was announced by the Ministry of Finance.
Revenues, assistance and donations under the CFP by April 2022 are expected to amount to 17,792 million. BGN (31.1 per cent of the annual estimate) and increased by BGN 1,080 million (6.5 per cent) compared to those reported for the same period in 2021. Tax and non-tax revenues in the CFP increased nominally in April 2021 by BGN 1,040 million, while revenues in aid and donations (the main grants under EU programs and funds) are close to those reported for the same period last year.
Expenditures under the consolidated fiscal program (including Bulgaria’s contribution to the EU budget) as of April 2022 amount to BGN 16,909 million (26.8 percent of the annual estimate). For comparison, under the CFP until April 2021 they amounted to BGN 16,540.5 million.
The part of Bulgaria’s imports into the EU budget, paid to external data, on April 30, from the central budget amounted to 535m euros. BGN
