Redevelopment on Av. de Novel and the bld du Fier
Avenue de Novel and boulevard du Fier are undergoing major road and landscaping redevelopment until mid-May.
The City of Annecy has conducted a reflection on the redevelopment of the sidewalks of Avenue de Novel and Boulevard du Fier. The aim was to find a sustainable and suitable solution for the new plantations envisaged.
These two thoroughfares each have an alignment of trees which, for various reasons, show advanced signs of decline. Planted several decades ago, they did not grow in optimal conditions: plantation perimeter too restricted, adaptability of the species, drought.
The redevelopment of avenue de Novel and boulevard du Fier therefore consists of completely redoing the sidewalks and creating new rows of trees to facilitate their development.
On Novel Avenue
As a replacement for maples, three species of the coniferous type are assumed, in order to promote biodiversity on the site.
Proud Boulevard
To replace the silver maples, two deciduous species have been selected to diversify the plant palette and promote biodiversity.
Work that began this week continues until May 16.
