Warns Northern Norway: – Change back to winter tires or leave the car
Last weekend it was hot in large parts of Norway. Also in the north of the country, the temperature gauges sniffed in the 20s.
Then there were many who changed the tires on the car – but the winter is not over.
– It looks pretty cool
– It seems that it can last for a few more weeks. It looks quite cool, says on-duty meteorologist Anita Ager-Wick NRK.
And snow and summer tires are not the best combination. That is why UP manager in Northern Norway, Geir Marthinsen, comes with a clear message to drivers with summer tires who are going out to drive in areas with snow:
– Change back or leave the car.
Not a requirement
There are deadlines for when to change to summer tires.
In southern and central Norway, it is said that the deadline is the first Monday after Easter, and for northern Norway it is operated with the date 1 May.
Marthins thinks this should be ignored and says that it has been decided which tires you should have on the car. Thus, May 1 is not a requirement.
