Sustainable changes on the way for Versailles district in Neder-Over-Heembeek | Brussels
Neder-Over-HeembeekThe College of the City of Brussels approved the design program for the Versailles district in Neder-Over-Heembeek. With this design, the City of Brussels wants to improve the quality of life of the residents in the district by focusing on more public facilities and greenery.
The government is investing 26 million euros in the new project for the Versailles district. These resources are mainly used for job creation, youth infrastructure, support for families and greening. In this way, the College wants to breathe new life into the neighbourhood, which is remote from the city centre. “Life says want to achieve this neighborhood contract”, Alderman for Urban Renewal, Arnaud Pinxteren (Ecolo).
In addition, more support will be given to projects on socio-professional integration, youth counseling, urban agriculture, culture, sport and general well-being. Work on the final project will start in 2023, after approval by the College of the City of Brussels, the City Council and the Government of the Brussels Region.
