the Blues Passions festival launches its currency
Not that the festival has decided to invent a new local currency there, the coda is the illustration of the desired stronger links, of a real partnership between the association of traders and the event. “250 pieces will be distributed to partner merchants,” says Quentin Barusseau who presents the project. Parts that will be given to customers coming to make purchases. “For 10 euros spent, we will receive two coins. And after ten pieces, the person can have a reduction of 5 euros on festival tickets or 10 euros on passports, ”continues the young man.
Cult collection
For the moment, about twenty traders have responded favorably to this initiative. “The goal is for there to be around 40 participants. The operation will be introduced in the coming days and it is a project that we want to make last over time. ” But that’s not all. With these codas, it will also be possible to acquire pieces stamped with the effigy of the great names of the blues “who marked the festival”, comments Michel Rolland. We will therefore find BB King, Odetta, Otis Clay, Ray Charles and Willie King. “There will be 50 copies of each piece and we can have them for 15 codas,” explains Quentin Barusseau. “The portraits are taken from photos taken live during the festival. The objective is to create a somewhat rare and cult collection for blues lovers,” adds Michel Rolland.
The festival has also focused its efforts on cafes, restaurants and hotels, through the Blue hotel operation – doesn’t that remind you of a title by Chris Isaak? – in connection with the Cercle des hôteliers, “with whom we have worked”, insists Quentin Barusseau.
