Election day, Sunday April 24, 2022 was also the day of a (new) major advance in the High Speed Line (LGV) project, between Bordeaux and Toulouse. Indeed, the decree implementing the ordinances creating the Société du Grand Projet du Sud-Ouest (GPSO) has been published in the Official Journal.
A pivotal start to the year
It was on April 22 that Jean Castex and the competent ministers signed the implementing decrees for the ordinances of March 2, 2022, issued the two public establishments local. Two, since in addition to the Bordeaux – Toulouse line, there is, in fact, the New Montpellier-Perpignan Line (LNMP).
A signature that suits the dynamic of a pivotal start to the year, for the GPSO. On February 18, the financing plan was signed.
The planets have aligned in recent days, since when he came to Toulouse on March 14, 2022, the head of government declared that he attested “that the implementing decrees can be taken before the end of the mandate”.
See you this summer…
Summer 2022 will offer a major new step since it is at the beginning of the summer season that the GPSO will see the installation of a governing body, namely the supervisory board, be recorded.
As a reminder, the total cost of the project is 14 billion euros. The State had undertaken to contribute 40%, the same part as the local authorities. The remaining 20% is for Europe.
… and in 2023
Prefect of the Occitanie Region and coordinator of new high-speed lines in Occitanie and New Aquitaine, Etienne Guyot welcomed this new shift. And has already set an appointment for another highlight. Very strong.
“We can now launch additional studies and works, and give us an appointment in 2023 for the first pickaxes north of Toulouse and south of Bordeaux. The speed of implementation is essential on these mobility projects, decarbonized and at the service of daily life, service and bringing territories together.”
