5 things to know before the Monaco E-Prix 2022
Saturday will be the fifth Monaco E-Prix. Sixth round of the 2022 Formula E season, the Monegasque race once again promises to be a spectacle in the Principality.
1. The tour
This is a big first. This year, the Monaco E-Prix will follow the same route as the Formula 1 Monaco Grand-Prix. The opportunity to compare the times between the electric single-seaters and their hybrid cousins, on a 3,367 km route. During the last Formula 1 Grand Prix, Charles Leclerc took pole position with a time of 1’10’346.
“Last year’s successful use of the full Monaco track layout was a major step forward for the ABB FIA Formula E World Championship, explains Javier Maffioli, head of event operations for FIA Formula E. This year we are taking the final step by removing the minor changes that were put in place for Formula E, so that we can see our drivers and cars performing on the historic track. »
2. The board
As every year, many renowned drivers will be presented on the starting grid. Among them, the three-time Formula E world champion, Jean-Eric Vergne (DS Techeetah), currently leading the championship, but also Stoffel Vandoorme (Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team), Robin Frijns (Envision Racing) and Nyck De Vries (Mercedes-EQ Formula E team).
Rokit Venturi Racing will also be there, with Lucas Di Grassi and Edoardo Mortara. Last year, Antonio Félix Da Costa (DS Techeetah) won the race.
3. The program
Free practice: From 7:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. then from 9:10 a.m. to 9:40 a.m.
Diplomas: Between 10.45 a.m. and 12 p.m.
Course : Start of the 6th Monaco E-Prix at 3:04 p.m.
Podium: Starting at 16h
4. Billets
Tickets to attend the Monaco E-Prix are still available on the official race website (see link below). If the majority of places have found takers, there are still a few tickets left, in certain stands, in particular on the Quai Albert 1er, at the single price of 30 euros.
For those who have already purchased their E-Ticket, it is now possible to download them online on the site monaco-eprix.comin order to access the stands of the event.
5. Access conditions
Wearing a mask will not be compulsory in the stands and in the Allianz E-Village. The vaccination pass will not be required.
