UN dream come true. Joyoung man from Toulouse (Haute-Garonne), one who always believed in him despite a career strewn with pitfalls. This Monday, April 25, 2022, he launched into the deep end with the opening of her own hair salon (Jo Barber Square) at 13 boulevard Silvio-Trentino.
An atypical journey
Now 23 years old, the one who has more than 10,000 subscribers on social networks has very quickly found his way. “From the age of 12, I already knew that I wanted to do that,” he laughs. A good student, but somewhat dissipated, the Toulousain still forged a great experience for his age. After a first step at CFA Jasmin, Jo decides to change salon, not very comfortable with women’s haircuts. “The crowning glory is that I got my CAP thanks to a women’s haircut! »
After several experiences and an already large clientele, the young man was noticed on social networks by the Jean Claude Aubry Academy. A promise of employment in his pocket, he then begins to project himself and already imagines his own living room.
Jo Tekori and Stade Toulousain
After two and a half years of experience at the Barber Blagnac, Jo finds himself styling a few stars from the Stade Toulousain “thanks to word of mouth”. Overnight, the Toulousain finds himself styling “Joe” Tekori who subsequently takes him regularly to the stadium to style other players.
“I once found myself styling Cheslin Kolbe… I wasn’t always interested in rugby back then and I didn’t even know he was (laughs)! »
Now friends with a few players, the Toulousain also took care of the hair of Cyril Baille, Mauvaka peat or Dimitri Delibes.
Then personalities from the gaming world
While his notoriety is growing on the networks, Jo is contacted by the JL team (unemployed), a famous community in the world of video games. “They sent me a message on Instagram, I didn’t know them… They offered to do their hair, especially in a “gaming” house located in Toulouse. It’s partly thanks to them that I’m here…”.
From then on, the number of Toulouse subscribers exploded and he was invited to an important event in Paris where there were streamers like “AmineMaTue”. “I did my hair all day non-stop,” recalls the young man.
A dream come true
After these great experiences, the goal was clear for Jo: to open her own salon. “With a friend, we found this place at Les Minimes, he explains. In two months, we managed to complete the work… It really is a dream come true! “. Very popular on the networks, the young man has not been idle since the opening. “I didn’t eat yesterday,” he jokes during a slight lull. Totally launched in this new project, Jo does not forget his friends from Stade Toulousain whom he does his hair regularly.
“It is often said that football players are a stickler for haircuts, but so are rugby players! »
In the meantime, Jo cuts her hair in four to finish fitting out her long-dreamed-of living room.
