Toulouse. The PS facilitates the dismissal of a CGT delegate

On the occasion of an evening against the far right organized by the Socialist Party in Ramonville, near Toulouse, the CGT organized a rally at the place of the event bringing together more than a hundred activists to challenge Carole Delga , the president of the Occitanie region. According to the UD CGT 31, the latter facilitated a few days before an ongoing dismissal procedure targeting Teldja Seniguer, member of the office of the Union Départementale CGT Haute-Garonne and Secretary of the Local Union Toulouse Sud. The CGT activist is currently threatened with a dismissal procedure by the management of Carif Oref, a company largely subsidized by the Occitanie Region.
The CGT therefore denounces union repression on the part of Carif Oref and the Regional Council of Occitanie. The company Carif Oref would accuse the union representative of having alerted the company to sexist and racist behavior towards several employees, including herself. In addition, the threat of dismissal comes just weeks after the employee announced her pregnancy. The CGT Haute-Garonne denounces a procedure which comes into ” complete contradiction with the protection of employee victims whistleblowers on issues of sexism, racism or sexual harassment, with the protection of staff representatives and with the protection of pregnant employees “.
The PS hand in hand with the bosses in the face of whistleblowers
The Regional Council has the power, if it wishes, to prevent Teldja’s wrongful dismissal. However, during a vote on the procedure for the CGT union representative, the regional president, Carole Delga, gave instructions to abstain. The MEDEF, followed by the advisers of the Socialist Party, and with the complicity of the CFDT and the CFTC, was able to obtain the majority necessary to begin the dismissal of the employee. The CGT activists therefore denounced during the rally the contradiction and the hypocrisy of the PS, which at the same time of making an event against the far right, facilitates the dismissal of a CGT delegate who is fighting precisely against the ideas of extreme right, in particular sexism, racism and anti-social and pro-management reforms.
But Carole Delga is not her first gifts to employers. Already, during the PS primaries in 2016, she supported the candidacy of Manuel Valls, one of the most right-wing fringes of the party who led the Labor Law and the authoritarian turn under the Hollande quinquennium. Also, the employment policies carried out by Carole Delga in the Occitanie perfectly embody the liberalism that she claims to be fighting. Applying training policies, sold as vectors of potential work contracts on leaving for dismissed workers who turn out to be in truth only “hidden misery”, a scam for a large part of former employees of the aeronautics affected by the crisis.
More recently, she also showed us the fate she reserved for activists who fought against oppression. Thus, when Mélanie Luce, president of the UNEF, spoke of the existence of non-mixed meetings for racialized people, so that the latter authorized to organize themselves in the face of the racism they suffer, Carole Delga eager to join in the multiple attacks of right-wing and far-right politicians, going so far as to demand the dissolution of the student union. The president of the region did not stop there, since the day after the invasion of the Regional Council by the former far-right small group, Action Française, the latter found nothing better to do than publish a tweet denouncing… UNEF.
We must stop pitting people against each other, at the risk of generating a society of enemies.
Racism, anti-Semitism and discrimination will only decline by first bringing together the French on the rights and values of the Republic.
The UNEF would benefit from following this path.—Carole Delga (@CaroleDelga) March 26, 2021
It is undeniable that Carole Delga, by favoring this withdrawal, seeks to weaken those who refuse the established order and fight daily in militant organizations. Through this policy, it contributes to feeding the breeding ground of the far right. Faced with this hypocrisy, let’s organize ourselves to refuse the dismissal of Teldja and bring our total solidarity to all the victims of employer repression.
