Toulouse: spectacular accident on a background of alcohol
A drunk driver hit a traffic light and ended his race on the central reservation of Boulevard Lascrosses in Toulouse.
A spectacular traffic accident occurred around 11:20 am, Sunday April 24, boulevard Lascrosses in the heart of Toulouse. The road safety brigade was called for a driver who had lost control of his car. In his mad dash, he hit a traffic light before ending on the central reservation. Controlled, the suspect, aged 23, had no papers. He had a blood alcohol level of 1.8 grams per liter. Placed in police custody, he did not recognize being the driver and explained that the latter had fled.
A little earlier, around 11:15 a.m., this time on Boulevard d’Arcole, the police took the initiative to check another motorist. He had no papers. Officials discovered that his license was canceled and he was uninsured. The man had drunk so much that he couldn’t breathe. Blood samples were taken. He is still in custody on Monday.
Hit by a fleeing driver
Finally, a young woman miraculously escaped an accident with a hit-and-run on Sunday afternoon. As she was crossing, around 4:20 p.m., on a pedestrian crossing between Place Soupetard and Avenue Louis-Plana, she was hit by a car. The 26-year-old victim was thrown several meters onto the sidewalk. She had no major injuries but was taken to hospital for check-ups. The driver fled. An investigation is opened.
