Matthieu Poumarède elected new dean of the Faculty of Law of Toulouse
Mathieu Poumarede, professor of private law and director of the Institute of legal studies of town planning, construction and the environment (IEJUC) has just been elected for five years new dean of the faculty of law of Toulouse. He succeeds Philippe Nelidoff, historian of law and institutions. Specialist in contract law, civil liability and real estate law, Mathieu Poumarède took over the management of the highly recognized IEJUC in 2011. He focused his research on housing and the environment of the building.
His work focuses in particular on bad housing and more generally on the shortage of housing, evils which, according to him, can be solved by the implementation of new legal instruments such as real property leases, tailor-made housing, allowing middle classes and first-time buyers to become owners.
Passed by the Pierre de Fermat high school then by a doctoral student at the Toulouse 1 Capitole University under the direction of the highly respected Professor Corinne Saint-Alary Houin, the Toulousain began his teaching career as a lecturer at the University of Caen. Basse-Normandie in 2004 before joining the University of Toulouse in 2005.
