Benoît Paire publishes the insulting messages he received on social networks
After his defeat in the first round of the Estoril Open in Portugal on Monday, the Avignonnais Benoît Paire received many insulting messages which he published on social networks.
The Avignon tennis player is not in his best shape and he is paying dearly for it on social networks. “I’ve never seen such a quiche”, “stop playing tennis”, “you’re losing everyone’s money”, “what the hell am I betting on you for, bogus”…
Internet users flooded him with insulting messages after his new defeat Monday, in the first round of the Estoril clay court tournament, against South Korean Soon-Woo Kwon (6-4,7-5).
The French tennis player published on Twitter five screenshots of these kindnesses posted on Instagram accounts and asks “Is this normal for you?”.
At the end of the match, Benoît Paire, known for his outbursts, came out “under the boos of some of the spectators, he almost showed his posterior to the Portuguese public”reports the team which specifies that earlier the player had had “a headache with a spectator who laughed after his faults”.
According to the team, Benoît Paire would have “expressed on social networks his feelings as soon as he left the court, a middle finger quickly deleted”.
In Portugal, Paire, 32, 60th in the world, lost in straight sets (6-4, 7-5) to South Korean Soon-Woo Kwon, 71st in the world, who beat him 6-4, 6 -4 in the 1st round of the Barcelona tournament last Monday.
Paire experienced the period of restrictions linked to the Covid pandemic very badly and won few matches last year. He has not spent a first round on the ATP circuit since the Australian Open in January (3rd round). “I look for solutions every day to change this spiral”, he assured on social networks.
