An appeal against the Toulouse ZFE
Bikers launch an administrative procedure to have the traffic bans canceled
Mandatory ZFEs from 2025 in cities with more than 150,000 inhabitants
Little by little, the Low Emission Zones (ZFE) are spreading over the metropolitan territory. And if there are only a handful of them in activity today, the Mobility Orientation Law has formalized a generalization of the system to all agglomerations of more than 150,000 inhabitants by 2025.
Thus, Toulouse was put in order in the first quarter with the entry into force of its ZFE on March 1, de facto prohibiting the circulation of vehicles classified Crit’Air 5 or not classified, a level brought to harden over years to completely ban thermal vehicles in 2030.
These EPZs have always been criticized by many users and associations who see them as anti-social measures before the ecological aspect, putting the most modest in difficulty who are generally those driving with the least recent vehicles and therefore primarily concerned by the bans. traffic.
In the pink city, the bikers gave way very early since March 12, the Association of Bikers of France and the Templars on the Road already manifested themselves by blocking the ring road.
But things will not stop there, because the Templars have decided to take legal steps to win their case by filing an appeal against the ZFE before the administrative court. In addition to the social aspect which is again underlined, the lawyer in charge of the file also intends to rely on the lack of pedagogy of the State on this subject, ensuring that the consultation procedure was insufficient. According to a survey conducted in February by Eco Entretien, only a third of French people are sufficiently informed about the EPZs.
Be that as it may, it will be necessary to wait several months before the administrative court renders its verdict. The decision will be important since it could set a precedent.
