Pianist Evgeni Genchev and his story (VIDEO) – Society – Bulgaria – Focus with Lora Krumova
He graduated from the Royal Academy of Music in London and shared a scene with people like Tom Jones and Lady Gaga. What is the story of one of the most successful Bulgarian pianists – Evgeni Genchev, says Nikolay Beremliiski.
Evgeni is a favorite of the publication all over the world. He has given concerts on several continents and won over 15 national and international piano awards.
“Maybe I would present myself as a musician, pianist, writer, actor, composer, arranger, but the most characteristic thing for me is that I look for and create,” he said.
You say that the piano is your first love. But where do you meet him?
“We met him in the apartment next door.” There was a grandmother Savka who has a piano and it was played by a family friend who was studying at the academy in Plovdiv at the time. He repeated his scores, and I kept listening to him. Once, when he was resting, I tried the piano.
You shared a scene with many celebrities. Tell me a little more about it.
– During our promotion with Symphony, while we were in Stuttgart, we had gone on stage with Tom Jones and recorded for Helena Fischer’s Christmas show. It was two mid-evenings and the publication was over 10,000 people each night.
You can be defined as a citizen of the world. However, do you miss Bulgaria and how often do you return here?
“Unfortunately, I don’t come home often.” I try to do between concerts so I can spend time with my loved ones.
If you had to play Bulgaria – how would the melody sound?
– It would be a beautiful melody, it can be so dramatic, with complex harmony and a pinch of melancholy. The way I love her.
