Blood pressure, temperature, oxygen: make your own medical consultation thanks to a box created in Toulouse
The Toulouse start-up Doc2u is launching a connected medical object the size of a small box to carry out general teleconsultation.
Taking the temperature or measuring its voltage will soon be possible remotely with a connected object the size of a telephone. A Unlike a cabin or a teleconsultation terminal, this new object offers mobility and flexibility of use.
A Toulouse start-up that wants to fight against medical deserts
“We wanted to be as close as possible to the physical consultation with our doctor”, specifies Sébastien Risler, the founder of Doc2u. Created a year and a half ago, this Toulouse start-up has tackled the issue of health to make care accessible to as many people as possible. An engineer by training, the co-founder of Doc2u wants to help fight against medical deserts through technology. Currently being examined for certification, its connected object must meet a number of medical standards.
A reliable teleconsultation with a discreet and ergonomic object
This all-in-one solution measures four constants of physiological parameters: a blood pressure monitor, a heart rate monitor, an oximeter and a thermometer. To use it, the patient just needs to connect to one of the eight teleconsultation platforms compatible with the box. Once well connected and put in touch with a doctor, the consultation begins. With the box integrated into the patient’s wrist, the image and sound are transmitted to the general practitioner through the stethoscope and the otoscope. For example, to take the temperature, the user places the box in front of his forehead so that he receives the data in real time. The thermometer has a light point so that the general practitioner can ensure that the patient is placed in the right place on the forehead. Like a classic remote consultation, the data is transmitted and consumed by the platform. When the device is validated, it will be offered to all telemedicine players: nurses, nursing homes, companies. The cost of the consultation is free for the patient and the doctor, since the health insurance devotes a budget to the development of these technologies.
Barely finished, the co-founder of Doc2u already wants to improve his connected object by adding new features. Once validated, the device can be developed internationally to offer improved remote consultation from anywhere.
