a parade to stand up to breast cancer, May 10
The “Women of the Lead” parade was ready; we had announced it and met on this occasion Marilyne Mugnier, designer of hats and turbans (photo). This was without taking into account a global pandemic and a confinement of several months. The rest, we know it, between deconfinement, mask and reduced gauge. Fortunately, she won’t have the reason for the parade. See you on May 10 for a charity parade to benefit breast cancer prevention and medical research.
““Femmes de tête” is a tribute to all women, to those in particular who, with courage, go through the trials of illness. These women that Marilyne Mugnier highlighted and made beautiful with the help of her creations in order to help them reconcile beauty and health. A tribute also to the Court of the Abbey and to the Christian Réal Foundation in order to celebrate this emblematic artistic place and its history” explains Évelyne Garlaschelli, president of the women’s committee for breast cancer screening in Savoie.
Woman’s Mental Load
About twenty amateur models will parade. Mostly women: teacher, journalist, lawyer, graphic designer, designer, banker, accountant, artist, designer, etc. and a few men. Everyone will wear a turban or a hat, an original creation, related to their profession, imagined and accessorized by Marilyne Mugnier.
The first turban entitled ‘Connected brain’, chosen for the poster of the parade perfectly illustrates this double tribute – the mental load of women and their multiple daily connections!
All the models will be dressed by the many fashion boutiques in Annecy who have spontaneously agreed to voluntarily support this charity parade.
“Leading Women” parade, May 10, from 7:30 p.m. in the courtyard of L’Abbaye in Annecy (Annecy-le-Vieux). All tickets will be given to the committee. Information and reservations on: www.cancerdusein-depistagedessavoie.org
