A new work artists Homek and 2 fluid was born, between Thursday 21 and Friday 22 April 2022, on the Wall located rue Alsace-Lorraine, in Rouen (Seine-Maritime). Accustomed to playing, these two friends know how to combine their styles, notably linked by influences from lettering and the Arab world.
A work evoking different layers
They were inspired by a canvas already made in common to imagine this mural fresco named Split. “We represented like a brushstroke with lots of details inside”, says 2flui. The letters of the word split, written from right to left, served as the backbone of the work. This base was then refined until it became barely legible. “It helps us find structure, but we don’t want the audience to just be in front of a word,” Homek says.
A palette of blues is contrasted by black, white and orange. Different strata are revealed in the form of “tearings” dear to Homek. “They symbolize the different stories that we can tell ourselves,” he explains. We can also see a little nod to the Wall, made up of ephemeral works overlapping one after the other.
