Near Toulouse. Soon a country guinguette on the edge of a lake, on the site of an old farm

Le Perget, its gigantic commercial zone, its flagships in the tertiary or industrial sectors, and soon… its guinguette short-lived ! On the shores of the (small but rural) Lac du Perget, the town hall of Colomiers (Haute-Garonne) wants to highlight this “atypical place” of the metropolis of Toulousewhich once housed the eponymous farm, of which only the ruins remain today: a beautiful facade, with its adjoining turret.
A place “that the Columérins have appropriated”
It is therefore on this site, for the time being relatively unknown beyond Colomiers and located just opposite the Terreal factories (the manufacturer of bricks and terracotta tiles) that the town hall has launched a call for projects. “It’s a place that the Columérins have appropriated and that they enjoy walking around”, testifies Benjamin Riouxdeputy mayor in charge of territorial innovation.
“It is a proven site for several years on the occasion of the Saint-Jean fire, which is a real event in Colomiers”, supports Karine Traval-Michelet, Town’s mayor. Because for her, it is also the duty of the municipality “to provide entertainment for the whole population” and to allow them to “find themselves in a place of the great outdoors”.
The little story of the Perget farm and dovecote
Located near the eponymous lake on the road to Pibrac, the Perget farm dates from the 17th and 18th centuries. The town hall of Colomiers points out that “in the Toulouse countryside, oral tradition often mixes the terms border, farm, castle, to designate the same building”. In this case, “certain documents refer to the Château du Perget, to define this building of which only the recently restored facade elements remain today”.
As for the dovecote of Perget, dating from the 18th century, it is one of the emblematic figures of the city. Traditional style in pink brick, raised on four semi-circular arches, this heritage from the past evokes the origins of Colomiers.
Also think of “those who do not parent on vacation”
Karine Traval-Michelet does not hide it: at the time of “the fashion of the guinguettes”, she wants Colomiers and its lake to also succeed in riding the trend.
“There are guinguettes popping up all over the place. And when you have a place that lends itself to it, you shouldn’t deprive yourself of it. Here, it makes sense! We read a project that is part of the framework of the activities and entertainment that the town hall offers in the summer, and which also makes it possible to think of those who are not parenting on vacation”.
A call for projects launched
The town hall therefore comes from lancer a call for applications to install on this “communal place” of Perget a new “summer address”. As for the type of activity that will be installed there, if it will have to “fit into the natural dimension of the site”, the game is open: “The project leader will have to propose a leisure activity, says Benjamin Rioux. “For example, the rental of deckchairs or bouncy castles”. If this animation will have to be the “main activity” of the guinguette, it will also be able to offer “small catering”, and a “drinks offer”.
In concrete terms, an agreement for the occupation of the public domain provides the opening procedures of this activity: from 1uh July to September 4, 2022, from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. from Sunday to Thursday, and from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays.
The municipality is open to any proposal, but wishes to set up an activity “only in the months of July and August”, and which is “complementary and in no way competing with private ones” with a storefront nearby. The farm and its dovecote are indeed a few hundred meters from the Duck on the Roof, famous for its pool parties, and the brasserie-bodega The Green Square, two institutions in the Toulouse conurbation. To your projects!
