Renting a car in Paris and Île-de-France with your Navigo pass: how does it work?

After the Vélib’, it’s the turn of cars and utilities fr self-service to be able to be borrowed directly thanks to the Navigo pass a Paris and in Ile-de-France. An offer made possible thanks to a partnership between Île-de-France Mobilités and the company Communauto. The explanations with Paris news.
220 vehicles in Paris and in the inner suburbs
The Navigo pass is no longer confined to soft mobility. Indeed, since this Thursday, it is now possible to borrow a vehicle – a car or a utility vehicle – via the Île-de-France Mobilités application.
For this, users need to go through three steps. First, consult the vehicles available nearby, through the application. From the latter, the user can then Reserve a car and indicate the duration required. And finally, unlock the car simply via your Navigo pass, after scanning it on the windshield.
Communauto offers a service car sharing Fr loop, which means that the borrowed vehicle must be returned to its place at the end of the rental. Near 220 vehicles are made available for the moment, mainly in Paris but also in Hauts-de-Seine, Seine-Saint-Denis and Val-de-Marne for around twenty of them.
Five types of vehicles are for rent: Toyota Yaris Hybride, Renault Clio E-tech, Citroen C4 Cactus, Renault Captur and Citroen Berlingo. Regarding the rates, they vary according to the duration and the mileage. For 24 hours and less than 100 km, count around thirty euros.
