Early voting broke records of voter turnout in Slovenia news
A total of 130,151 people or 7.67 percent of all eligible voters voted in the three-day early voting, the commission wrote on its website. Four years ago, turnout in early voting was only 3.1%.

This week, early voting was possible between Tuesday and Thursday for those who are unable to vote at polling station on election day. Analysts say the large number of early voters suggests turnout on election day would be significantly higher than the 52.64 percent recorded in 2018.
Polls show a close match between Prime Minister Janez Jansa’s Slovenian Democratic Party (SDS) and the new Freedom Movement (FM), led by director Robert Golob. Each of the two parties could get about 25 percent of the vote, and several other parties would exceed the 4 percent threshold for representation in parliament.
The new government is likely to be a coalition that should have a majority in the country’s 90-member parliament.
Preliminary election results will be announced late Sunday.
