Diocese: San Marino-Montefeltro, on Sunday 24 April a liturgical-pastoral conference on the sacrament of Confirmation
At the end of a two-year period on mission as an expansion of Easter, the diocesan office for the liturgy together with the catechetical office of the diocese of San Marino-Montefeltro organizes, on Sunday 24 April at Casa San Giuseppe, in Valdragone (Rsm), a theological conference -pastoral care on the sacrament of Confirmation or Confirmation.
The title of the conference, “With the strength of his Spirit”, observes the bishop, Msgr. Andrea Turazzi, “echoes many pages of the Acts of the Apostles and refers to the commitment of our communities which this year went to rediscover the action of the Holy Spirit, the true protagonist of the mission: (one) the Spirit of strength that gives disciples of Jesus the courage to ’embrace the world’, that is, to take on its challenges and tribulations ”.
“Confirmation will be considered as ‘confirmation’: not so much the action as the boy to his Baptism, to the adherence to the Gospel of Jesus, but – adds the prelate – the Confirmation of the Spirit that makes grow, encourages and gives the path of those who receive the sacrament. Often that of our candidates is still uncertain and fragile, sometimes more presupposed than real. The conference aims to help rediscover the sacrament of Confirmation, to return to meditation and to count on its effectiveness! “.
Msgr. Turazzi reflects: “Confirmation: a word that is very necessary for these days. It is God who confirms us! He does it while everything seems so uncertain, confused and ‘liquid’: nothing is confirmed, everything is revisable and uncertain “.
Salvatore Martinez, president of the Renewal in the Spirit, is entrusted with the presentation of the reality of the Holy Spirit as a possible friend and companion; to Don Matteo Donati, professor at the ISSR “A. Marvelli ”, a historical-liturgical reading of the sacrament of Confirmation and to Fr Andrea Lonardo, director of the Culture and University Office of the diocese of Rome, the pastoral relevance of the topic.
