France imports 47.4 billion euros worth of goods from the Netherlands
Since 2019, France has been the most important of Dutch goods after Germany and Belgium. In 2021, goods exports (including re-exports) to France constituted 8 percent of the total.
More medical products in particular to France
Refined petroleum products belong to an export value of 3.0 billion euro in 2021 to the main exports to France, followed by telecommunications equipment (2.0 billion euros), such as modems, routers or smartphones. Compared to 2011, it was mainly the export of goods with an application, such as medicinal and pharmaceutical products, medical instruments and devices, and resources. A large part of these exports are re-exports, as are goods such as smartphones, computers, laptops and office machines. Refined products, flowers and plants and petroleum consist to a large extent from Dutch-made exports.

Earnings of goods exports to France 1.4 percent of GDP
The Netherlands protected the export of goods to France in 2020 about 11.4 billion euros, that is 1.4 percent of GDP. From that came 8.1 billion from the export of goods of Dutch origin and 3.3 billion from re-export. In addition to the export of goods, the Netherlands also earns money from the export of services to France, in 2020 that was approximately 6.0 billion euros. total export earnings to France amounted to 17.5 billion euros in 2020. Wholesalers, management consultancies and IT services earned the most from exports to France.
Fewer petroleum products from France
With an input value of 18.7 billion euro, France was our second supplier of goods in 2021. The import package is ten years ago on some heavily modified front ends. Imports of refined petroleum products have more than halved. The decline in Dutch imports of petroleum products from France is accompanied by a decline in the total decline in petroleum products. A strong increase in imports is seen in semiconductors, processors and microchips. This development is not only apparent for imports from France; the total import value of such goods has more than quadrupled in the past ten years.

Using the input
Imported goods and services can be used for later export: they can remain within the Netherlands, and can be used for immediate export. Imports from France are equally divided between these three options. That is with imports from the UK. In comparison, imports from China are much more often directly exported and imports from Russia are more often used for export production.
