RF interpellation on pediatrics
To deepen the aspects related to the management of Pediatrics, Repubblica Futura presents the following question: The undersigned councilors,
• in light of the fact that, once again, the Pediatric ward is unable to guarantee its services as best as possible (forcing children to be diverted to departments that are not suitable for their needs) due to the loss of a part of their own nursing staff, intended for the management of hospitalizations in the Covid ward;
• considering that the situation was repeated other times during the pandemic management, more or less always in the same way, with a “withdrawal” of personnel always in a massive percentage measure in that specific department;
• given that it does not seem that the ISS has been able, after 2 years of pandemic, to organize its own staff, to be used if necessary for the Covid department, thus avoiding putting individual services in difficulty, consult the Government to know:
1. what is the staffing number of nurses foreseen for the Pediatric ward and how many nurses are in service;
2. how many nurses in absolute value were assigned to the Covid ward by the Pediatric ward and how many by other wards;
3. how many nurses (as a percentage of the total value of nurses serving in the specific ward) were assigned to the Covid ward by the Pediatric ward and how many by other wards;
4. whether other organizational and operational solutions have been explored to avoid removing the significant amount of nursing staff from a specific ward, putting its services in difficulty; if so, please indicate which ones;
5. what are the government’s intentions regarding the strengthening of the nursing staff of the wards where the planned staffing is not congruent with the actual existing endowment as well as the actual holding of competitions to find adequate nursing staff who, as it turns out, are not have been carried out for a long time.
Furthermore, taking into account the recent decisions of the Government regarding the governance of the ISS and the confirmation of some consultancy already requested by Dr. Drinking while he was not yet General Manager:
I. what are the results achieved and the improvements that have led the Government to declare the trial period of the new DG Bevere passed after less than 2 months of work (see resolution no.17 of 28/03/2022). A copy of documents, documents produced, etc. is required. who justified the government’s choice;
II. for what reasons did the Government decide (see resolution no.22 of 21/03/2022) to give a favorable opinion on the extension of 4 consultancy contracts, for an amount equal to € 15,000 for each consultant, to perform functions that to a large extent are already the responsibility of the three members of the ISS Executive Committee (for example: review of health processes, quality improvement, cost reduction, monitoring of results, improvement of accounting, assessments on territorial and pharmaceutical assistance, etc.) , and if the Government thereby deems that the current Executive Committee of the ISS is unable to carry them out.
