🇸🇪 Sweden: Daughter revealed as spokesperson for Eurovision 2022
SVT has revealed that Dotter will be the Swedish spokesperson for Eurovision 2022.
Daughter will reveal the Swedish jury’s points during the grand final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2022. Daughter told about her role in this year’s competition:
“I’ve seen Eurovision since I was little so it feels absolutely fantastic to be the one to reveal Sweden’s voices!”
Johanna Maria Jansson, better known as Dotter, is a singer-songwriter. She has participated in the Melodifestivalen three times as a soloist. In 2019, she sang “Cry” and finished sixth in her semifinal. In 2020, she finished second in the final with “Bulletproof”, and finished just one point behind the winners The Mamas. In 2021, she reached the final again with “Little Tot”, which finished fourth. She is also credited as the background singer in “I Am What I Am”, this year’s Maltese contribution, co-written by her fiancé Dino Medanhodžić.

Representing Sweden at this year’s competition in Turin is Cornelia Jakobs, who was chosen after she won the Melodifestivalen last month.
Who is Cornelia Jakobs?
Anna Cornelia Jakobsdotter Samuelsson, also known as Cornelia Jakobs, was born on March 9, 1992 in Stockholm, Sweden. The singer made her music debut in 2008 when she auditioned for Swedish Idol. Her career took off a few years later when she joined Love Generation. The girl group participated in the Melodifestivalen 2011 and 2012, with their contribution “Dance Alone” from 2011 on the Swedish lists.
Cornelia has written and composed a number of songs, including Efraim Leos Melodifestivalen 2021 song “Best of Me”. A year earlier, she composed and performed “Weight of The World”, the soundtrack to the HBO series Björnstad.

Sweden in the Eurovision Song Contest
Sweden debuted in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1958 and has continued to be one of the competition’s most successful countries. The country has won the competition six times, the most recent was 2015. Sweden’s first victory came in 1974 when ABBA won the competition in Brighton with “Waterloo”. Since missing in the final in 2010, Sweden has finished third twice and won the competition twice, only in 2013 did the country end up outside the top 10 in the final.
