Saudi Arabia condemns the deliberate misuse of the Holy Quran in Sweden
RIYADH On Monday, Saudi Arabia has condemned and condemned the intentional misuse of the Holy Qur’an, provocations and incitement against Muslims by some extremists in Sweden.
The Ministry for Foreign Affairs said in a statement that the Kingdom emphasizes the importance of coordinated efforts to disseminate the values of the dialogue.
Saudi Arabia has also stressed the need to spread tolerance, coexistence, renounce hatred, extremism and exclusion, and prevent the abuse of all religions and holy places.
It is remarkable that southern Sweden has witnessed gross violence alongside a demonstration of anti-immigration and anti-Islam movement led by the Danish-Swedish citizen Rasmus Paludan who announced the intention to burn copies of the Holy Quran.
Paludan is currently touring in Sweden and is targeting districts with a large Muslim community.
On Thursday, riots broke out late in the afternoon in Linköping and three police officers were injured.
Paludan has provoked other incidents on several occasions in recent years.
In November 2020, he was arrested in France and then deported. Five other activists were arrested in Belgium shortly afterwards, accused of wanting to “spread hatred” by burning a Koran in Brussels. SG
