Catherine Spaak died at the age of 77. That time of the San Marino Prize
Mourning in the world of cinema for the disappearance of Caterina Spaak (image taken from Wikipedia), at the age of 77.
In San Marino the actress was present on 5 October 2009 at the Teatro Nuovo di Dogana for the gala evening organized by the Ente Cassa di Faetano (Foundation owner of the Bank of San Marino) for the delivery of the San Marino Prize to Marino Angelo Forcellini, president of the non-profit association ‘San Marino for children’.
In honor of the winner, the show “The Little Prince” was staged, a musical poem by Antoine de Saint-Exupery, recited by Catherine Spaak. The actress retraced the magical encounter with the Little Prince, a unique adventure embellished with original music written by four great modern composers: Luis Bacalov, Maurizio Fabrizio, Philip Grass and Krzysztof Penderecki; the various pieces performed by an ensemble of four musicians who accompanied the voice of Catherine Spaak, while the original drawings by Saint-Exupery were written as a suggestive frame for the story. The show was presented in the first Italian national team in June 2009.
The San Marino Prize (initiative promoted and organized by the Cassa di Faetano – foundation of the Bank of San Marino) was dedicated to San Marino citizens who, due to the importance of their initiatives, had highlighted themselves in the field of civil value, letters, of sciences, arts, technology, work or sport, and has acquired significant merits, honoring the name of the Republic in an extraordinary way.
The first edition of the award went to the physicist Luciano Maiani and Father Marcellino.
