(ANSA) – GENOA, APRIL 18 – Alberto di Monaco will be in Genoa on April 23 to receive the honorary citizenship that seals the ancient bond between Genoa and the Principality. In the morning he will visit the parks of Nervi where Euroflora is set up, the XII edition of the International Flower and Ornamental Plant Exhibition, the only Italian event among the floralies recognized by the International Association of Horticultural Producers.

The link between Euroflora and the Grimaldi family is ancient. Princess Grace and Rainier of Monaco were guests of the first edition of the Exhibition back in 1966 and Grace, a great lover of roses, returned in 1971. The ‘Princesse de Monaco’ was dedicated to her, a cream-white rose edged with pink, ever since hosted in the Rose Garden of the Parks of Nervi.

In the more than eight hectares of the area of ​​Parco Gropallo, Parco Serra and Parco Grimaldi, more than 300 realities of the world horticultural world will be protagonists who will create over 90 gardens and scenic installations. Among these there is also the Jardin Exotique, the magnificent garden of the Principality of Monaco that Prince Albert will visit together with the other wonders present in the Parks until Sunday 8 May. In addition to the Principality of Monaco, there are many foreign participations in this edition of Euroflora. Of note is the important return of the Netherlands, the second time of China representing China Flower Expo, the presence of France with the Floralies of Nantes, twinned this year with Euroflora, and then Spain with a garden dedicated to traditional event of the city of Murcia, the Entierro de la Sardina, and the United States with the city of Columbus (Ohio).
