A pioneering store of made in France in Toulouse
Dressing from head to toe with 100% made in France is possible with Les Traits Français. Located in the heart of the city, the coffee shop is a pioneer in this field.
Gathering more than 70 brands, Les Traits Français is the boutique-café, rue Jules Chalande, dedicated to French know-how. “We want everyone, from 18 to 70, to recognize themselves,” says Romaric Madelpuech, founder of Les Traits Français.
And for good reason, the shop has three times more racks than when it started in 2019. A success based on the wide choice offered by the shop: clothes, cosmetics, games, accessories, etc. All with exclusively French brands. Being the only boutique in the pink city to offer 100% French products, Les Traits Français skilfully selects its brands. “We want to reveal ourselves so that our products correspond to our DNA and our universe”, insists the 30-year-old young man. Anchored in a vintage atmosphere, the store offers a selection of unisex clothing. “It is our challenge this year to propose to dress a couple with a mixed piece”, notes Romaric. On the shoe side, he works with Kleman, a brand that dressed the workers of the SNCF and Air France in the 1970s. It is therefore a subtle association of the old with the new.
Romaric has teamed up with his sister, Anne-Sophie in this café-boutique project. In this concept, everyone brings their own touch. Romaric was inspired by his travels to London and Berlin to combine the concept of a boutique with a café, all in one place. “We especially thought of the accompanying persons who can take the time to settle down”, explains Romaric. A break outside while shopping will now be possible from this summer. Les Traits Français will have a terrace for sunny days. Anne-Sophie, meanwhile, developed the online store. With the covid crisis, the shop had to close its doors three times, accelerating the creation of the e-shop. “Have an online version to look at the clothes and a physical store to try to make a difference”, argues Anne-Sophie. Despite everything, the pandemic has also enhanced the concept of French Traits. “People have become aware that we need to consume more locally”, observes Romaric.
Finally, the brother and sister have no shortage of ideas to develop their shop. For Anne-Sophie, “it is paradoxical that the made in France is mainly on the internet”. They want to accommodate more collections by collaborating with other brands.
