“In the RSM, every citizen has the right to freely express their ethnic, religious, ideological affiliation,” he said.
Macedonian Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski has called on Bulgarian authorities to allow the opening of a cultural center for Macedonians in Bulgaria, BGNES reported.
According to Kovachevski, Ivan Mihailov contradicts the historical figure who changes in the RSM in different ways by different people. However, as it is a citizens’ initiative under the European Convention on Human Rights, it is not subject to state control.
“In the RSM, every citizen has the right to freely express their ethnic, religious, ideological affiliation,” Kovachevski said on the occasion of the opening of the Bulgarian Cultural Center “Ivan Mihailov” yesterday in Bitola.
He stressed that “his government will continue to follow this approach because it is their principle both as a state and as a society.”
“At this moment in power of the RSM, as well as the public is waiting for the day when the time will come for our neighbors and there the citizens who have Macedonian self-consciousness, in this way to express their conviction,” said Kovachevski.
