Easter XXL in the Olympic Park with over 50,000 visitors!
It will be continued on Easter Monday with Dachshund Day
“I would almost like to say, like in ‘old’ times. Tens of thousands of happy faces, program in almost every corner of the site. Real Olympic Park feeling. I am very pleased that we were able to offer the people of Munich this very special Easter Sunday and I would like to thank everyone who made this possible. And it’s not over yet. Because tomorrow, on Easter Monday, there is still Dachshund Day. There has never been more Easter in our park,” says Olympiapark boss Marion Schöne.
In fact, on Easter Sunday more than 50,000 visitors took place under optimal external conditions: Inside, they made their way to the Olympic Park to celebrate a real anniversary Easter with the “Easter Festival”, the “Day of Football”, the “Market Sunday” and many other offers.
At the “Easter Festival”, the Munich families experienced a colorful program with fun hands-on games, exciting competitions, magic shows, face painting, handicraft workshops and much more. Accompanied and moderated by Radio Arabella moderator Uli Florl, because of course the Munich radio station, as a long-standing Easter comrade-in-arms, was also part of the party, as were the Munich showmen and many other actors.
At the 28th Merkur Cup, the largest e-youth tournament in the world, 24 U11 teams played in three preliminary tournaments in the Olympic Stadium to advance to the next round and did their football idols credit. In keeping with this, the Bavarian Football Association invited to many activities in front of the stadium gates on “Football Day”, such as classic goal wall shooting or training sessions on a soccer court. The most popular photo and selfie spot was without question the FIFA World Cup 1974™ Winner’s Trophy, which had to be scrolled in the entrance area of the Olympic Stadium.
At the “Market Sunday” people browsed and haggled as much as they could. Booths with different themed areas invited bargain hunting, from the fashion sale at fashion & vintage to toys and clothes at the children’s flea market to the antique & 70s department with rare antiques and curious peculiarities.
And: The holiday program continues immediately. Tomorrow, Easter Monday, April 18, the peninsula will host Dachshund Day. A colorful program awaits the dachshunds and their mistresses and masters: For example, skill training on the agility course for the four-legged friends, where the two-legged friends can get good advice from dog trainers. There are also photo shoots and fashion shows and a walk together around the Olympic Lake at 1 p.m., all in honor of the legendary Olympic mascot Waldi, who is celebrating his 50th birthday this year.
