Toulouse: at the international fair, the police are recruiting
The national police takes part in the Toulouse international fair and seeks to seduce its future agents. 2,000 positions are offered in particular for future peacekeepers.
In hall 7 of the international fair of Toulouse, the public observes a little fascinated the work of a police dog. Specialized in the search for weapons and ammunition, “Maya” does not need much time to find the hiding place. At the Toulouse fair or in the cities of Toulouse, the help of this “civil servant” is particularly precious. And it is also an effective recruiting agent.
“We offer many positions. The fair gives us the opportunity to meet a lot of people, especially young girls and boys”, confirms Laurent, head of the recruitment department. The police are trying to seduce their 2,000 future peacekeepers. “The competition accessible to holders of the baccalaureate is scheduled for September. Those who will be received will follow a year of training where they will be fed, housed and paid 1393 € per month before their first position. For their start of career, the salary is set at €2093.”
Beginnings that often take place in the Paris region. “Unless you are extremely well ranked, there is little chance of starting in Toulouse,” warns the recruiter. To go down in the South, it is played “on average after 12 years of exercise”. “And we must not forget that internal promotion works very well with us. 50% of the officers or commissioners come from there.”
The Toulouse police school also trains deputy police officers. “Here recruitment takes place every three months and no need for a diploma. It is a 3-year contract renewable once. This can be a first step for those who wish to join the national police”, warns the head of the recruitment center.
For those rewarded, the police also offer meetings by appointment at the info point rue du Rempart Saint-Etienne in Toulouse (05 61 12 82 83 or 06 73 71 54 16). Also consult the site devenir-policier.fr
