The new Tempête restaurant in Toulouse prepares a Russian-Ukrainian meal
After months of work, the ephemeral bar Chantier is transformed into a restaurant: Tempête. It occupies 22 rue des Polinaires in Toulouse. On May 5, 2022, he organizes an evening on the theme of peace.
The tarpaulins on the walls and the insulating panels suspended from the ceiling have given way to a raw and modern decoration. The restaurant opened its doors on Tuesday, in the Carmes district. Morgane Peyrot Blanchard, Nicolas Blanchard and Corentin Le Bars are behind the project. They offer a menu with Asian flavors and a range of house cocktails. On May 5, 2022, the menu changes for an evening, to discover Russian-Ukrainian cuisine.
An evening on the theme of peace
With the current conflicts between Russia and Ukraine, it is an evening that takes place at the heart of the three restaurant managers. Unite around a good meal, and remember that we are all part of ordinary mortals. “The evening is called peace on the plate, love in the glasses”, explains Nicolas. For the occasion, Suzy Arsen, Russian chef from the restaurant Troïka Royalen, located at 23 rue des Filatiers, comes into play. Specializing in Russian and Armenian dishes, she has joined forces with two Ukrainian refugee women to develop the menu for the evening: make way for Russian-Ukrainian cuisine.

As for drinks, Morgane, Nicolas and Corentin are in charge. Experts in making homemade cocktails, they prepare new recipes especially for the event. Nicolas specifies: “They will be in the theme, we will be inspired by Slavic gastronomy”. The alcohols used “are only good products”, insists Nicolas. The brandies revealed by an Alsatian distiller, Lehmann; Mescal and Whiskey traveled from the United States.
All money generated during the evening will be reversed to the Red Cross. Donations allowed to help Ukrainian refugees find accommodation in Toulouse.
