Easter message from Mons. Andrea Turazzi Bishop of San Marino-Montefeltro
1.
There is an ancient tradition in the Middle East: on Easter night a lit torch is thrown from a tower in the holy city, Jerusalem. Its glow is seen from the monastery of San Saba, in the desert of Judah, which in turn re-launches that light in the darkness of the night. A light that passes from darkness to darkness, from region to region, from tower to tower, until it reaches, as good news, Mount Sinai. A light that wakes the dawn. As happened on Easter morning: Christ is risen!
2.
Christian, whether you are aware or not, whether you feel a sinner or not, with your mere presence you are a bearer of hope in the world. Cristiano, are you there? These dark and bloody days need you.
3.
The songs that resound in our churches begin after months and months of silence are beautiful, but the testimony of the Christian who does not escape the complexity of the present is even more beautiful. In a hospital ward, from the desks of a school, from the laboratory of a company “makes hope”!
4.
Hope is a positive contagion:
– arouses solidarity and brings together friends without distinction: “Every man is my brother”.
– invites sobriety because man’s life does not depend on his goods
– supports responsibility and service, because one passes from death to life by loving (cf. Jn 3:14).
Happy Easter!
