The start of the season was given last Saturday at kingoland. The biggest pattraction archs of Morbihan, located on the edge of the RN24, in Plumelin, hopes to regain its pre-covid rhythm, “where we had reached 120,000 visitors. We are even aiming a little more…”, does not hide Dominique Leroux, creator and manager of the park.
These last few years have not been easy, especially 2020 “with a quarter of the turnover lost”, then a late reopening in 2021. Despite this, Kingoland recorded good attendance last year: “The fact of having nurses on hand to offer testing was a life saver as many people hadn’t had time to turn around. In the end, we welcomed just over 100,000 visitors. »
Optimism is therefore in order for this 9and season, with our fingers crossed that this summer will finally be normal… “We hope to start off on a good footing, even if the spring school vacation calendar is not super favourable: Parisians are not on vacation at the same time as us, and there are fewer bridges this year. Hopefully the weather will be kind. »
Always more novelties
Visitors will discover new attractions, because during these ‘covid’ years, the park has not stopped investing. After the octopus Octopus (new for 2021), it’s a big family carousel that made its debut in Kingoland this winter: hot air balloons.
These pretty cream and plum bubbles are 12 in number, each basket has four places.
It is a carousel for the whole family since it does not go up very high, only six meters.
A nice decor has been created all around. This is an aspect that is close to the heart of the owner of this family park: “it is our signature. In a park, there are not only the rides, there is also the atmosphere. We are constantly working on it. »
Throughout the winter, the Kingoland team improved other decors, in particular near Gravity, “where we also took advantage of regulatory maintenance to redecorate and create PRM access”. The Chenille station has also been transformed into a London Underground station. “Next year, if all goes well, the village square should benefit from a facelift,” announces Dominique Leroux.
This summer, regulars will of course find their favorite games among the forty or so attractions available, from the most tranquil, with rides aboard the tacots or the crazy taxis, to the most restless: there is plenty to choose from.
A full day
With children, a day in Kingoland requires a certain endurance! A short break will therefore be welcome to regain strength. Picnic areas are available, and a third snack point has been created.
Another nice interlude awaits visitors with the new show from the circus company present under the big top: “They signaled with a new show of about thirty minutes on the theme of rock’n’love. It’s certain, we won’t have time to get bored this summer at Kingoland!
