The season ended on Saturday April 9, 2022 in National 3 Men’s basketball. Once again, several individuals from Calvados clubs stood out, since six (!) finished in the top 10 of the best scorers in the pool. Discover the ten best scorers of the season among the four departmental clubs: ASPTT Caen, Bayeux, Caen Nord Basket and Union Caen-Hérouville.
1- Robin Lecoutey (Bayeux), 21 points
The Bayeux player was expected at these heights. Last season, he played five games averaging 22.2 points. This season, in 17 games, he has a very nice 21 points. It is the second scorer of the pool, however, a good distance from Chartrain Ugo Doumbia (23.8 points). His feat? 45 points against Chartres!
2. Lucas Lenoir (Bayeux), 18.1 points
The fifth scorer of the group is a revelation, since he did not frequent the local ranks before this season. Arrived last summer in Normandy, the leader very quickly confirmed the qualities attributed to him, he the former player of National 1 and even Pro B in Aix-Maurienne. A hell of a good pick for Bayeux…
3. Pierre Hébert (Caen North), 17.5 points
It collects places of honor in this type of classification but had never been so high. Pierre Hébert had approached 16 points on average in 2018-2019, he easily exceeded 17 this time. 3 is his lucky number since he finished with exactly 333 points on the clock. He will have escaped the doldrums of the CNB.
4. Matéo Landry (Caen-Hérouville), 17.2 points
In any National 1 club, he would probably have a minimum of playing time at this level of competition. But Matéo Landry evolves in a structure that already has 11 professionals, so it is in reserve that he continues to hone his skills. The winger seems to have passed another milestone this season.
5. Florian Diesnis (ASPTT Caen), 17.1 points
We imagine him slightly disappointed: he is only fifth in the Calvadosian ranking and eighth in Group G. Florian Diesnis, the offensive leader of ASPTT Caen, had done better during his previous full season with the PTT (20, 2 points in 2018-2019). His total remains more than respectable. It is also much better than two years ago, with Caen Nord (12.1).
6. Franck Mpondo (Caen North), 15.6 points
Frank Mpondo has confirmed that he is one of the most dominant pivots in Nationale 3. He is having his best statistical season, having just exceeded 12 points per game two years ago. His overall performance, peaking at 32 points, was not enough to save Caen Nord from relegation.
7. Yael Andreu Sabater (Bayeux), 12.8 points
Bayeux’s third scorer scored nearly 13 points per game, which also testifies to his collective offensive strength. Yaël Andreu Sabater, who had started with a bang last season (16.8 points per game before the stoppage), remains a centerpiece of the CSB.
8. Vincent Cornu (ASPTT Caen), 12.1 points
The pivot carries out a good exercise on a personal level, one of the best of his career. His return to Caen is a great sporting success.
9. Charles Yassi-Pepin (Bayeux), 11.8 points
He is one of the few not to have missed a single match with Bayeux this season. Charles Yassi-Pépin, who arrived last summer like Lucas Lenoir, was present in the interior sector.
10. Samba Diaw (Caen-Herouville), 11.5 points
Renowned for his athletic qualities, he is considered the best position 4 in the area. His statistics show some of his talent, even though he has only played 13 games this season in N3.
