Anthony Chada statements: “The Dutch never give up” (Brussels)
Basketball Elite Silver Apollo Amsterdam – Phoenix Brussels
With the trip to Amsterdam, Brussels faces a new challenge. Antwerp attacker Anthony Chada (32) is planning to put the strong Brussels series in the Elite Silver.
Anthony Chada was brought to Neder-Over-Heembeek in January to replace the Finn Okko Jarvi, who has since made his comeback. Chada is a seasoned professional who, after passages at the first division team Kangaroos Willebroek, Charleroi, Pepinster, Leuven Bears and Antwerp Giants, ended up at Brussels via second division team Melsele as an intermediate station.
The Elite Silver seems like a fun playground for Chada as the regular season turned out to be a nightmare for him and his team. Amsterdam, which was led to the slaughter in the Aalst Forum on Saturday, must also form a bite-sized chunk.
“If we are top, we must be able to keep Amsterdam under control”, Chada.
“The Dutch never give up. I think the Dutch playing style is different from the Belgian one. With our northern neighbors, even with a large backlog, every team will continue to fight if there is no problem. We are certainly not allowed to generate Amsterdam, otherwise we could come home from a bare trip.”
“Fortunately, with Jarvi’s return, we gained a lot of scoring ability. Terry Deroover has resumed training and is therefore on the right track.”
Chada got a lot of playing minutes in the last few games, but his contract in the capital has ended. “I now focus on the competitions. Afterwards we will see what the future brings. Even as a thirty-year-old, I have learned a lot this season.”
“Our coach is therefore an absolute winner. Jean-Marc Jaumin himself played at Real Madrid and therefore knows what he is talking about. We are preparing for a long bus journey. Fortunately, that did not compete with the sweet taste of victory on a return journey. Every win is a reward for the hard work.”
