Toulouse: Kardham delivers the second work of its digital campus
The architecture division of the Kardham Group, in association with the architectural office FP01, has just completed in Toulouse (31), in the heart of the city on the Place de l’Europe, work on an office building, “ Coworking », second building of the vast urban digital campus project carried out for Icade and Ynov.
On the 20,000 m² of Place de l’Europe, a former parade ground, the digital campus continues to reveal its contours. After a school dedicated to digital professions, Toulouse Campus Ynov, delivered at the end of 2021, the Kardham teams have just finalized the works of a building of coworking spaces of 3,716 m² SDP including in particular offices on the ground floor and in floors. It is the penultimate part of an ambitious urban densification project which, by favoring the mix of uses and synergies between actors of economic life and Toulouse universities, must contribute to making the district more attractive during the day. like at night.

The “Cowork” building is an independent twin volume to the school building, with the same size and the same external appearance, with the exception of certain vibrations on the facade and the layout of the roofs. It is contained in glazed and clear volumes, giving off a light architecture. It is open to the public space in order to give it a real activity and the various programs on the ground floor reinforce a pedestrian axis provided from the congress center towards this district in the making of Brouardel-Europe. The preserved mineral space makes it possible to keep the already existing activities while developing the feeling of too distended and difficult to apprehend space that the former place offered.
A hybrid hotel residence
The third and last work of this campus constituted a hotel residence reinforced vis-à-vis these first two works and in restructuring part of the former Compans-Caffarelli military barracks. It will be used by The Student Hotel, a Dutch concept proposed to mix professional and student populations in a very friendly environment. The entire project received the prize for urban diversity in 2020 during the Pyramides d’argent Occitanie Toulouse Métropole from the Federation of Real Estate Developers (FPI).
