The Partner Library project is being transformed into the Library for Slovakia
“Exactly a year ago, a series of online trainings for CVTI SR partner libraries was launched. At that time, we introduced CVTI SR database titles, relevant to the public public. The fact that we continue these events in the monthly library today is a reflection of their importance in practice.” said Dávid Baranko from CVTI SR. The ongoing pandemic situation and several planned trainings had to be postponed.
“We have trained more than 20 libraries in Slovakia in the basics of working with modern digital technologies, such as Micro: bits or 3D printers. After training, librarians are able to competently push the basics of programming, robotics or 3D printing to their users,” said Baranko. Various workshops were also organized as part of the project, and the continuous digitization of public library holdings was launched.
“The traveling book scanner is currently digitizing the collection of the third partner library. At the CVTI SR digitization workplace, it has completed the digitization of the collection in the order of the second partner library,” Baranko said. The network of partner libraries has grown to 35 partners.
The goal of the Library for Slovakia consortium remains the same, namely to intensify the use of the library as a place to acquire all kinds of information, lifelong learning and computer skills.
