What is it like to love and live as a lesbian couple with a child in Salzburg?
We asked ourselves this question together with podcast moderator Hendrik. Michi and Eva came to him in front of the microphone. The two Salzburgers (by choice) are a lesbian couple with one child and a second, who will see the light of day in June.
You want to see Michi and Eva in motion? look up Instagram roles over, there will be a wide variety of mini films throughout the month.
For Michi it was the first relationship with a woman – and she married her straight away. Eva had been in a relationship before, didn’t really want to get married anymore and after the birth of her first child she thought: “Oh, it doesn’t matter now”. Together with her kind there was a lavish party. That was 2019. The year in which marriage between same-sex partners finally became possible in Austria.
Lesbian couple with child in Salzburg – is there a headwind?
What sounds like a fairy tale… it is. Because as a lesbian couple in Salzburg, the two have never felt any opposition at all. “We are very open about our family situation,” says Eva. So, as another would speak of her “husband”, the two say “my wife”. For Eva and Michi it is clear: It only gets funny when you start with the secrecy. It’s easier to lay the cards directly on the table.
But what if your own child arrives in a world that thinks entirely in traditional family categories? Does the four-year-old ask for dad? How do they explain where dad is and WILL the kid ever get a chance to meet him? Ahh… and: How does it actually work to get a species if the seed is missing?
Michi and Eva have more than that and a lot of other, really interesting topics with ours Podcast moderator Hendrik Spoken. In just under an hour and a half, they examine the life and love of the lesbian couple and come to some surprising conclusions.
A sequence too precious to brush next to it
Let’s be honest: This episode of HEAST is extraordinary. She brings to light so many new aspects of relationship that there is almost nothing you can do but listen. We tried to do some casual cleaning while listening through the rough cut. And stayed on the living room couch to peck. There was no other way.
But now: Listen to the good piece – either right here in the player or on all known podcast platforms.
