Estaing is exhibited at Toulouse station to charm travelers
Until Saturday April 30, the commune of Estaing is honored on the forecourt of Toulouse station, under different views. On the eve of the next summer season, these photographs exhibited by the SNCF Gares & Connexions subsidiary aim to arouse in station travelers a desire for tourist getaways.
Several times a year, the subsidiary SNCF Gares & Connexions, in charge of managing and operating the 3,000 French stations, co-designs cultural facilities in stations.
Until April 30, it is under the banner “France, Heritage & Territories of exception” that the village of Estaing will be honored on the forecourt of Toulouse station alongside La Romieu, Olargues, Sarrant , other photos of surrounding destinations. The photo of Estaing presents a view of the Gothic bridge, its castle and the village with its schist houses and slate roofs.
On the eve of the next summer season, these photographs should arouse in station travelers a desire for tourist getaways and the discovery or rediscovery of remarkable territories.
“It’s an invitation to travel, explains Martin Malvy, president of France Patrimoines & Territoires d’exception, but a trip of a different kind. A sensitive journey through living territories, sometimes still unknown, forgotten, or simply to be rediscovered at other times of the year”.
After more than a year of a health crisis that has shaken the country’s tourist economy, this project is part of a process to support and revive the local tourist economy. It makes it possible to invent a new tourism, sustainable, unusual, of proximity by deseasonalizing, and by decentralizing the tourist frequentation. This chosen tourism thus contributes to the preservation and sustainable development of the territories.
Transmitting the image of France as it is in the diversity of its landscapes, its towns and villages, but also through its know-how and its gastronomy to a local and international target, is one of the major challenges of these exhibitions.
