a municipal police car overturns after being hit by a tram
The facts took place this Monday afternoon on Boulevard Chave in the 5th arrondissement. No one was seriously injured. Passers-by helped put the vehicle back on its wheels.
A Marseille municipal police car was hit by a tram in the 5th arrondissement of Marseille, BFM Marseille informed the Force Ouvrière police union.
The accident occurred on Monday afternoon on Boulevard Chave. The car with three police officers on board was on its way to an intervention on Sakakini Boulevard. When the vehicle arrives on Boulevard Chave at the level of the tram track, a tram train arrives at the same time. Neither engine was able to avoid the collision.
Passers-by help get the vehicle back on its wheels
The police vehicle was hit and overturned on the road. A dozen passers-by present near the accident quickly helped the police, trapped inside, to put the vehicle back in the place.
In a few minutes, they managed to tip it back on its wheels. A gesture of solidarity that has been filmed and broadcast on social networks in videos seen, for some of them, thousands of times.
The spokesperson for the police commissioners’ union SICP Matthew Valet provoked this “beautiful lesson in civics” on his Twitter account.
Despite the impact, however, no officer was seriously injured. Some will suffer only a few bruises.
